Overview

RivalNotify (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it when you use our website monitoring and competitor intelligence service at rivalnotify.com.

By using RivalNotify, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the service.

Data We Collect

Account Data

When you sign up, we collect your email address, full name (optional), and a hashed password. This is used to create and manage your account.

Profile & Product Data

We collect information you voluntarily provide — your product name, product URL, and product description — to help our AI personalise competitor analysis for your business context.

URLs You Track

We store the competitor URLs you add so we can monitor them on your behalf. We also store page snapshots (text content and screenshots) to enable change detection.

Notification Preferences

We store your email address and, if you connect it, your Telegram chat ID to deliver alerts.

Usage & Technical Data

We collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. We also track how many URL checks and AI analyses are performed for billing and abuse prevention purposes.

Payment Data

Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy. We store only your LemonSqueezy customer and subscription IDs — we never see or store full card numbers.

How We Use Your Data

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers who help us operate RivalNotify:

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Page snapshots older than 90 days may be automatically purged to manage storage costs. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or accounting purposes.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for authentication (session tokens managed by Supabase). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics trackers.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Security

We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS encryption in transit, bcrypt-hashed passwords, row-level security in our database, and short-lived tokens for sensitive operations. However, no system is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

RivalNotify is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice on the dashboard. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
